A stock photograph should be 1) cheap 2) royalty-free 3) usable

Photographers description
A husband reads his paper as the rain pours down on him from a leaky roof. The wife glares back at him for his lack of concern. There is no digital enhancement on this photo.

My thoughts…
Firstly WTF! Seriously W.T.F! Who in gods name would use this picture? Where would you use it? How would you use it??? The ‘photographer’ entitled this photo ‘Kitchen Rain’. Do people search for such an image? Oh I’m looking for a photo of a kitchen where in it’s raining!!!
“A husband reads his paper as the rain pours down on him from a leaky roof”
Does rain ‘pour’ down from a ‘leaky roof’? No! It drips!
“The wife glares back at him for his lack of concern”
No way is that his wife. She looks way too young, and may I say, way out of his league. She has an umbrella up inside, now that’s asking for the gods to come down hard on her, it’s bad luck! Plus, you can tell it’s not raining where she’s standing, and why doesn’t she do something?
“There is no digital enhancement on this photo”
I can believe that!

….Yeah I don’t get it!
Any idea how much a credit is worth to a photographer on this site…would be interesting to know….clearly there are people who will pay money for anything!
Might be worth trying to sell some photos!

Submitters on istockphoto.com get a portion of the fee paid. Ranging from $1 to $22 for this one, more for the slightly larger prints.
Do you want to model for me? I have a camera, a hose pipe and a rented house I don’t mind wrecking! lol

“Worst” is more than a little harsh, but the description doesn’t do any justice.
This image can possibly be used in an ad for older kid pampers (Honey, I think Jr. peed the bed again, or adult diapers (oh oh, did you leave Pop-Pop in the tub with the water running, or did he have another accident), maybe water beds will come back into fashion. Who knows, all one has to do is ad the word “FU*K” and you have a home owners insurance advertisement?
Based on a blog posting that actually received responses proves that this image works for better or worse. It has been seen.
Thanks for the posting.

Not that horrible…
I like the hole on the roof, with the light in,
it’s a big hole…
except I can’t accept the leaky roof, it should be broken roof…
