Digital UK Design Blog

Do you like this story?

Due to the lack of groups on Flickr showcasing web designs I have decided to create a couple. The first is ‘WEB DESIGN UK‘ and the second is ‘WEB DESIGN Yorkshire‘.

Isn’t Flickr just for Photographs?

Not anymore. Since Flickr introduced video, members are starting to take the hint and using the service to showcase everything they do, including photography, video, and design.

There are sites that showcase web design!

You can of course add your new website to one of the many Web Design showcase websites like CSS Mania, I do this myself, but Flickr has the adding benefit of grouping your work and showing off everything else you do which isn’t just web design oriented.

Exposure

Not the photography term!

Flickr can be used to build up your portfolio and attract major exposure and critique from a wider field of professionals. Flickr also allows you to show off your skills and talent to a different community, whilst homing all of your work in one location, great if you don’t have your own website!

The british are coming!

These two groups will hopefully showcase the best of british, so if you’re based in the UK, a company or an individual, please feel free to add your best work to the groups, ‘Let’s put one up the Yanks’!
